This is a new class of compost that is humus rich and full of beneficial fungi. Research in soil microbiology has found that many plants prefer and grow healthier in soils full of beneficial fungi. This compost is made from our aged native mulch which is composted for a much longer time before screening. The additional composting time concentrates the nutrients naturally found in the mulch and increases the microbial diversity. The composting process converts much of the lignin and cellulose found in the mulch into valuable humus.
